Anamaria (Ana) Crisan is an assistant professor at the Cheriton School of Computer Science, University of Waterloo. Her research combines AI and human-computer interaction to build human-centered AI tools for data-driven decision-making. Previously, she was a lead research scientist at Tableau, a research scientist at the BC Centre for Disease Control, and a bioinformatician at Decipher Biosciences. Her award-winning work, published in top ACM, IEEE, and biomedical journals, has led to AI-powered products for clinical use.
Dr. Joël Blit is a professor of economics at the University of Waterloo, chair of its Council on Innovation Policy, and senior fellow at CIGI. He researches innovation, AI, the future of work, and how technology impacts jobs and productivity. His work on COVID-19 and automation has been featured in The Economist, The Globe and Mail, and CBC. A former professor at George Washington University and consultant to global firms, he holds degrees in engineering, economics, and business from Toronto, Waterloo, INSEAD, and Western.
Dr. J. Mark Weber is Special Advisor to the Provost on Leadership Strategy and Development at the University of Waterloo. Formerly the Eyton Director of the Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business, he has also taught at the University of Toronto, Northwestern, INSEAD, and the University of Michigan. An award-winning teacher and researcher, his work focuses on leadership, cooperation, negotiations, decision-making, and trust, and he has trained leaders across diverse industries and government sectors.
Peter Carr is a continuing lecturer in Management Sciences at the University of Waterloo with 18 years of digital transformation consulting experience. He specializes in technology innovation, project management, online learning, and technology in developing countries, leading global projects and teaching internationally.
